TEMPESTA DI MARE — CHAMBER PLAYERS in Lancaster, PA
BACH TRIO SONATAS:
The six sonatas for organ re-imagined for chamber ensemble—music that is rich, deep, wicked, jaunty, impish, profound, hard-rocking and much more.
Tempesta takes BRANDENBURG 4 & FRIENDS on the road, October 18, 2012, for a performance at Connecticut’s Hartt School of Music. The performance is part of The University of Connecticut’s distinguished Garmany Chamber Music Series.
Italian fireworks and the German masterworks they inspired.
In 1711, Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi chose a new publisher who began to distribute his music through an extensive network of dealers. Europe went Vivaldi-mad. Johann Sebastian Bach transcribed at least ten of Vivaldi’s concerti for his own study, and Telemann incorporated their essential elements into his own works. This performance by Tempesta di Mare, “renowned as one of the best in this repertoire” (Abeille Musique, Paris) includes Telemann’s Hamburg Quartet, a Bach Trio Sonata and two of those flashy Vivaldi concertos.
